PRIVACY POLICY

This is the privacy policy for Search Snitch, an iOS party game published by Cristiana Calota (CRISTIANA CALOTĂ, Apple Developer Team 4JB8FMC86F). Plain English. No legal fluff. If something here is unclear, email calotanicky@gmail.com.

What we collect

• An anonymous account identifier — created automatically the first time you open the app. It's a random UUID with no personal information attached. We can't tell who you are from it.
• Your in-game display name — the name you type before joining or creating a room. Visible to other players in the same room. Not linked to your real identity.
• The searches you submit — the 5 search-history entries you type at the start of each game. Stored on our backend (Supabase) only as long as the room is active.
• Votes and scores — who you guessed each round, your running score. Tied to your in-game player record, scoped to the room.
• Subscription status — managed by Apple; we receive a flag indicating whether you have an active Search Snitch Pro subscription.

What we do NOT collect

• Your name, email, phone number, or Apple ID
• Your real device search history (we only see what you type into the app)
• Your location
• Your contacts
• Advertising or analytics identifiers
• Anything you don't explicitly type into the app

How we use it

• To run the game — match you to rooms, sync state between players' devices, show the right search to the right players at the right time.
• To verify your subscription is active so you can keep playing.
• To respond when you contact support (we only use the email you give us in your message).

Who has access

• You — your own data on your device and in your rooms.
• Other players in your room — see your in-game name, your votes, and (once revealed) which searches you submitted. They cannot see your real identity.
• Supabase — our backend database provider. Stores game state and your anonymous identifier. Bound by their privacy policy and a Data Processing Agreement.
• Apple — handles your subscription via StoreKit. Bound by their privacy policy.

We never sell or share your data with anyone else, period.

Retention

Searches, votes, and player rows are deleted automatically when the room ends (when the host leaves or 24 hours after the last activity, whichever comes first). Your anonymous account identifier persists across sessions so your game stats survive — delete the app to remove it from our backend.

Children's privacy

Search Snitch is rated 17+ and not directed at users under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, email us and we'll delete their data immediately.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

• Access — request a copy of all data tied to your anonymous identifier.
• Deletion — request immediate deletion of all data tied to your anonymous identifier.
• Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Object — opt out of any processing you object to.

Changes

If we materially change this policy, we'll bump the "Last updated" date at the top and notify you inside the app on next launch.
