Does Nodal work without an internet connection?
Yes, once a model is downloaded. Downloading needs a connection; chatting, reading photos, making images and music, and reading text aloud after that do not.
Where do my chats, photos and images go?
They stay on your iPhone. Nodal has no server and no account, so there is nowhere else for them to go. See the privacy policy for the three things that do use the internet: model downloads, purchases and support email.
Which model should I pick?
Every model in the app lists its size, what it is built for and how much memory it needs before you download it. Smaller models answer faster and use less storage; larger ones write better. The one marked Recommended is the right start for most phones. The largest sizes need 8 GB of memory, which the app checks for you before a download.
A download stopped, or I want to pause it.
Open the model's page and tap Pause; the download picks up where it left off when you tap Resume, even after a restart. Stop deletes what was fetched so far.
Can I attach a photo?
Yes, with a model that can read pictures. Open Manage models, choose Photos and screenshots, and download a size. With a chat-only model selected, the attach button offers to get one.
A model is taking up too much space.
Settings shows how much storage your models are using. Manage models opens the list, where each capability page lets you remove a single size. Free up space in Settings removes every downloaded model at once; you can download the ones you still want again afterwards.
Why was my image prompt refused?
Prompts are screened on the device. Requests for sexual content, anything sexualising minors, imagery of real people who have not consented, and graphic violence are refused, and that is not adjustable. If an ordinary prompt was refused by mistake, please email us with the wording so we can fix it.
Is the answer I got correct?
Not necessarily. AI models make things up, and nothing Nodal writes is medical, legal or financial advice. Check anything that matters. Health questions show links to reference sources under the reply, and the same links live in Settings.
I paid but the app is still locked.
Open Settings, then Restore purchases, using the same Apple Account you bought with. On the purchase screen, Restore is at the top. If that does not work, email us with the date of the purchase.
Is there a subscription? How do I cancel or get a refund?
There are two ways to unlock Nodal: Nodal Monthly, a subscription that renews each month (new subscribers start with a 3-day free trial), and Nodal Lifetime, one payment that never renews. Cancel Monthly any time in your iPhone's Settings, under your Apple Account, then Subscriptions. Purchases go through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
